Memorial Day Weekend

What an enjoyable weekend we had, I can't believe it's almost over already....

Saturday was our outside work day, even though the weather wasn't warm and sunny, we started a HUGE landscaping project that effected every side of the house.

We aren't done yet but between nights and weekends to come we will hopefully get this project checked off our "to do" list.

Here's what we got done so far!

More pictures to come!

Week #28

We've made it yet another week....we are now at week #28, I can't believe it!

By this week she weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels.  She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes.  Also her eyesight is developing and she may be able to see the light that filters in through the womb.

This week's fun gift was for me, oh yeah she got something too, like I've said before....she is one spoiled little girl already!

Being that sleep may becoming more difficult for me since I'm now in my third and final trimester I got a fun body wrap/pillow type thing.  I can't wait to use it, even though I've already caught myself either stealing a pillow from Nathan and/or grabbing an extra one from the guest room before heading to bed.

She also got a cute little "cupcake" outfit to add to her closet!  I think I better talk to Nathan about adding on to her closet already, it's filling up rather quickly!

Hope you all have a great rest of the week and a wonderful Memorial Day weekend, we are looking forward to some time off, even though a landscaping project is in our future!

Finishing Touches......

Due to the rainy weather we had tonight we finally took a couple minutes to head up to the "Baby Girls' Room" to put up the finishing touches...

She now has curtains, thanks to my Mom....I love how they turned out!

Nathan hanging the fun lime green with pink fringe shelves I painted....

Minus some "fun" stuff on the shelves we are pretty much done with her room....

I hope this little girl likes pink and lime green or we are in trouble!

3-3-3

This week marks the beginning of my "third trimester"....... in a way these last three months have gone pretty fast, I can only hope these next couple of months go just as fast.

This week's fun gift was full of pink stuff, all in 3's......

3 bibs, 3 little oneies, 3 sets of 3 pink hangers, 3 sets of socks, 3 wash clothes and 3 little burp clothes.  Have I mentioned before that this is one spoiled little girl and she isn't even here yet!

As much as I don't like posting pictures of myself, here you go....

                                          .............6 months pregnant!

What's in the box?

What a fun surprise to come home to today, a BIG box at our front door.

So what could be in the box?

This adorable brown chair and foot stool, which is the last piece of furniture for our little girls' bedroom was in the BIG box.  Nathan wasn't home yet so I went ahead and opened the box, I had to check it out.  I thought I'd get all the pieces out and ready to go so we could put it together when he got home, then I got to thinking there are only 5 pieces to this chair/foot stool I can put this together myself, right?  I hate putting things together but I can do this!  And that's what I did.........by the time Nathan walked in the door I was tying the cushions on and picking up all the garbage!  Can you believe it.........

I PUT THIS TOGETHER!

Side Note: Today is the 3 month mark, if this little girl decides to come on her "due date" we'll get to meet our little princess 3 months from today!
How exciting!

Go Hawks!

A co-worker of mine brought Baby Rausch a little gift today, she spotted it while she was out shopping over the weekend, isn't it the cutest?

......it says "this is how I roll!"

I think she is now ready for her 1st football game of the season, the countdown begins till September 3rd.

S-U-R-P-R-I-S-E!

Nathan turned "30" on Saturday and what was the 1 thing he said I better not do.....plan a surprise party for him.  Well I couldn't let his BIG day come and go without doing something so I planned just a little get together with some family and friends at one of the local bowling alleys.  I wasn't sure how I was going to get him there since we're not big bowlers but my friend Jodi helped me out with that.  She asked me if we wanted to take her kids bowling for a couple of hours on Saturday night while she went out for supper with a friend, which is something we've done with the kids before so that's what we did.  Nathan was surprised when we walked into the party room at the bowling alley and there was a room full of people there for him!

We ordered pizza plus had cake, yummy......

Opening gifts....

Bowling...

Thanks for being my helpers Zak, Whitney and Jaxon and getting Nathan to his very own surprise birthday party!

Week #26

We are one week closer already.....

This week's development notes how her little fingernails, toenails, eyebrows and eyelashes are now fully present and will continue to grow until birth, so what more what would this little girl need than her very own "grooming kit".....

...along with that she is surrounded by noise and may respond to loud noises now so that's why she received a couple CD's and the bright pink outfit is because she is now aware of light and dark.  All I have to say is that she is one spoiled little girl and she won't even be here for another 96 days, that's right we have hit the "less than 100 day" mark....that's unless she decides to come really, really late - let's not hope so!

Last night's project was putting together a bookshelf for her room.......I'm sure you're thinking "man this little girl's room must getting full" and it is.  We have a glider chair on order, hopefully it arrives early next week and some fun curtains to add to her room that my Mom is making for her....then I think we're some what done.  I have some wall decor that I'd like to put up and maybe some odds and ends for her new bookshelf but we have some time to add the "filler" stuff!

My job was to take all the pieces out of the box and get things organized.....

Then Nathan took over with the tools.....

Finished project only took us 45 minutes and that's counting having to flip one board around, only thing Nathan said was "why can't they just finish all the sides....why do they have to leave one unfinished and that's the one side that shows when you put the board on upside-down...."?  Good question honey!

As you can see she already has a couple books and picture frames on her cute little shelf.  I'm sure I'll be able to find some other odds and ends to fill the other shelves before August!

Happy Mother's Day

This Mom-to-be wants to wish all of you Moms and Grandmas out there a very special Mother's Day!

Our activities on this Mother's Day included:
     -Church
-Lunch with G & G Larson at the Bridges
     -A quick trip to Menard's
     -A visit from Nathan's parents
     -Supper at Mom's house

I also got my 1st Mother's Day present.....guess I'm going to start jogging after this baby is born.  Actually Nathan found it at a garage sale that our neighbor's daughter were having this past weekend, he thought it would be a great stroller to use on the bike trail in our backyard and/or if we do any walking east of town where it is really sandy/rocky.  It's in great shape, just need to dust it off and put a little air in the tires and we're ready to start "jogging"......thanks honey!

I also received a very pretty necklace and a very touching Mother's Day card from my Mom, thanks Mom for thinking of this Mom-to-be!

This week's upcoming project is planting all these beautiful flowers I picked up at greenhouse on Saturday.  I hope the nice weather sticks around!

Latest baby room project is this table, before it was a boring white table.....

Painting it green.....

Nathan putting on the finishing touch.......

Finished project.....
                                                    .......isn't it so cute!

Week #25

I can't believe we are into May already....where has the year gone?
Glad to finally be getting some sunshine too, helps with every body's mood I think!

This week's gift is a keeper, especially since I was just craving a little chocolate the other night.....perfect timing!  Due to Estelle's taste buds that are forming (my Mom has named her Estelle for now, that's not her name but we'll go with it for now) she and/or her Mom (me) is developing a weakness for sweets.  From this week's reading I also learned that she is about 13 inches long and weighs a pound and a half.  Also included in this week's gift was a nostril sucker since her nostrils are beginning to open now.  Every household should have one of those lovely things, don't you think?

Side Note: This week's doctor's appointment confirmed that I'm finally feeling good and gaining weight.  I've made it a whole month now without doing the lovely throwing up thing in the morning and the scale showed.  I've gained 5 1/2 pounds this past month...WOW!

End of a busy weekend.....

Friday evening involved a trip to Menard's to help Mom & Gary get block for Sunday's landscaping project at their house....more to come on that later!

Saturday while Nathan was at work I did a couple errands, cleaned the house, got the laundry done and spent a couple hours in the kitchen, cooking/baking!

Saturday night we headed to Target to registry for baby stuff, it was lots of fun spending over an hour in the baby aisle of Target, by the time we were done Nathan had become a pro at using the "gun" - he even let me use it just once!

After we got home I had a chance to view our registry on-line and noticed some things I need to change and/or replace otherwise it was a pretty easy process and a fun experience, made us both realize just how much stuff this baby requires, I told Nathan we'll probably need to add onto the house before she is "1"!

Sunday we spent most of the day at my Mom & Gary's working on their yard, it was nice and sunny yet very, very windy at their house....

Before.....

During......

 After.....

Here's a picture of the girls' project, I think it turned out awesome....great job girls!

And that ends our fun yet busy weekend!  Hope you had a great weekend as well, hopefully you had a chance to get outside and enjoy the sunshine!
