Holiday Hoopla

Last night we traveled downtown Cedar Falls for a night of fun, a night where Nathan and I got to be kids again!  Addison got to hang out with Papa and Frannie for a couple of hours while Natalie got to have some one-on-one time with Mom & Dad.  Even though the temps weren't too bad (30's) we could only handle being out there for a couple of hours but what a fun memory and a wonderful tradition we started with our lil' family, can't wait for Addi to join us next year - that's if the weather works out!

Here is Natalie in the car ready to go...

Downtown CF, walking the streets...

There's Santa's sleigh but where is Santa?

Visited Santa's Workshop, guess who was inside?

Mrs. Claus...

After we write our letter to Santa we'll have to come back
downtown to mail it off to him...

Pit stop at Scratch for a quick treat...

After warming up a bit we bundled back up and headed back out where we got to sing and dance in the streets to fun Christmas music and waited for the big fat jolly guy to make his appearance!

Some of the entertainment...Alvin and the Chipmunks!

The magician did his magic and Dorothy showed up followed by the Grinch....

and finally SANTA popped out of the magic book too!

Mrs. Claus waiting in the sleigh for Santa to join her...

What a fun night we had together as a family!

Happy Turkey Day!

We had a great time celebrating Thanksgiving (Addison's 1st Thanksgiving)
at Papa & Frannie's house today.....it was a nice relaxing day of great food
and good company....

Here is a couple quick snapshots of my lil' turkeys
before we headed out the door this morning...

Good looking table huh?

Natalie's spot at the table...

Onto "turkey" craft time!

And snuggle time....

Here are a couple other snapshots from the last couple of days, Natalie sporting her "things I'm thankful for.." shirt along with snow boots!

And another snapshot of the girls sporting their turkey outfits!

Hope you all had a wonderful day with family & friends as well!

Addison is 2 months old...

Today Addison is 2 months  old...

....she currently weighs 13 lbs.
(according to our bathroom scale)
but she goes in Monday for shots :( so we'll find out then
exactly how much she weighs.

....is around 22 inches long
(according to our tape measure)

.....she is a great eater, downing 5 oz (or more) bottles every 3-4 hours

....still a sleeper, taking one or two good naps during the day and then heading to bed around 9:00 pm at night, granted she is up one time in the night still but goes right back down so it's not too bad!

....has moved up from size 1 to size 2 diapers (just yesterday)

....wearing mostly 3 month clothes as she is sporting the cutest little double chin and more than one little roll on the little legs

....has really been smiling lately, especially when you talk to her, she has started to do a little talking on her own too (thank goodness she isn't talking back yet, I think I can only handle one of those in the house right now!)

....loves her big sister (I think) and loves to hear Mommy & Daddy talk, she picks up on our voices right away - which is too cute

....we loved celebrating her "first" holiday with her this past month - Halloween now onto Thanksgiving (which is tomorrow) and then onto Christmas

Happy 2 month birthday baby girl!

We love you!

Blessings Mix!

Natalie and I put these goody bags together the other night and she plans on taking them to daycare tomorrow....it's a "blessing mix" full of candy corn, pretzels, sunflower seeds and other yummy stuff along with a note describing what every item stands for this Thanksgiving season!

What a "blessing" Natalie's daycare is as she truly loves it!

We are so BLESSED!

Weekend at the Rausch's

This past weekend we spent some time at the Rausch's - celebrating an early Thanksgiving with them.  We arrived Friday night and just hung out before heading to bed.  Saturday we played, the kids have so much fun together....there is never a dull moment, that's for sure!

The girls....

Two peas in a pod...

Here is Nolen & Natalie helping Grandma decorate Grandpa's birthday cake, which we got to enjoy Saturday night for dessert after a yummy
Thanksgiving feast of a meal....

Great job guys, wow - look at all those candles!

Sunday morning we got up, packed and headed home mid-morning so we can gear up for another fun-filled, yet short work week....yeah!
We did manage to get our tree up this afternoon as well,
here are my special helpers sticking the bow on the top...

Sealed with a hug!

Onto a week of Thanksgiving, we have so much to be thankful for,
I'm not sure where to even begin but all I know is all those things will be on my mind all week, even more than usual!
