WOW! What a weekend we had and I'm feeling it today - tired!
Friday night I picked Whitney up and she stayed the weekend with us,
we just loved having her around - espeically Natalie...I asked Jodi if we could adopt her and she said "NO!" Bummer! Friday night after supper we walked downtown and rented a movie from the local grocery store plus picked up some ice cream and had a nice relaxing night at home!
Then Saturday morning we got up and us "girls" headed into Cedar Falls for the Sturgis Falls parade, what a nice parade it was...full of all kinds of fun floats, bands, dance teams, etc.
Here are the girls ready to head out for a morning of fun!
After the parade it was onto McDonalds' for lunch,
it was Natalie's 1st time to McDonald's and I think she liked it as she kept
trying to get a hold of Whitney's hamburger!
After lunch we headed home and Natalie took a nice long nap while Whitney and I did some odds and ends around the house! Later in the afternoon Nathan had a pile of twigs/branches to burn so Whitney headed outside to help him.....
The fire was pretty big in the beginning so while it burned we did a few things around the yard, which included......hanging out!
Swing rides...
Playing in the tree...
Mower/wagon ride from Nathan...
Once the fire settled down we got out the s'more fixins
and had some fun getting messy......aka very sticky!
Natalie even got her 1st taste of a graham cracker and a marshmallow....
After baths and playing inside we put Natalie to bed and found a
funny kids' movie on TV and then it was off to bed for all of us.....
Sunday we got up and headed to church, grabbed some brunch and then headed back home. Later in the afternoon Jodi came to pick up Whitney as they were back in town from being gone all weekend to a baseball tournament for Zak and his baseball team!
Grandma Sally also arrived in town in the afternoon as she is here visiting for a couple of days, so we had a little get together with some family at our house!
Sorry not a lot of pictures, but here are a couple cute ones.....
What a great weekend we had, busy yet fun times with family and friends!
